Bookish Beauty 2015 Makeup Awards

Picsart2015-17-12--18-01-58Welcome to the first Bookish Beauty Makeup Awards! These awards will consist of my favorite makeup products throughout 2015. Let’s get started!

Face Primer – ULTA Fabulous Face Foundation Primer

This is actually the first foundation primer I have used. I did a lot of research for an affordable option and settled on this one. I am looking for something new to try in 2016 so leave your suggestions in the comments for me!

Foundation – L’ORÉAL Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation 101 classic ivory

This is the best matte foundation I have used this year! I have oily/acne prone skin and have found this lasts the best throughout the day with minimal touch up.

Concealer – MAYBELLINE SuperStay Better Skin Concealer 10 ivory

I prefer to use the same concealer for my under eye area/blemishes and this concealer works GREAT for both! It is a corrective concealer so it covers up redness better than other concealers I have tried.

Powder – MAYBELLINE Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder 110 porcelain

I use this powder to set my foundation and it helps control excess oil. It’s also a good substitute for blotting papers if you don’t have any around.

Blush – MILANI Rose Powder Blush 08 tea rose

I picked this blush up a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite blush! Great neutral color and lasts all day.

Brow – NYX COSMETICS Micro Brow Pencil brunette

This brow product is so easy to use! It’s something I have repurchased and plan to continue repurchasing.

Eye shadow Primer – E.L.F. Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer sheer

E.L.F’s primer is so fantastic and for only $2! I have bought several of these throughout the year and I don’t apply eye shadow without it!

Eye Shadow – LORAC PRO Palette

This was my very first expensive makeup purchase and I am SO happy with it! This palette has a great selection of neutrals and pops of color, the shadows blend beautifully. What’s your favorite eye shadow palette? I’m looking to try out some new ones!

Eye Liner – ESSENCE Gel Eye Pencil Waterproof black blaze

Most days I just use shadow on an angled brush for liner, but when I want to tight line I love using this Essence liner! It stays all day and doesn’t gunk up in the corner of my eyes.

Mascara – COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara black

Holy Grail mascara!! This volumizes and adds length to my lashes in just the right amount. I get the non waterproof one so it comes off easier at the end of the day, less tugging on my eyes.

Lipstick – NYX COSMETICS Matte Lipstick natural

This is my go to everyday lipstick! It’s matte, but not drying, and stays well through drinking and eating. I only have the shade Natural, but I want to try out some others. What are your favorites?

Lip gloss – ULTA Shiny Sheer Lip Gloss  blush

This lip gloss is perfect for putting in the center of the lip for plumper looking lips. It’s not too sticky and tops lipstick really well.

Setting Spray – E.L.F. Makeup Mist & Set

This is the first setting spray I’ve tried and I am liking it, however I’m looking for something new to try in the new year.

What were your favorite makeup items this year? I would love to hear your suggestions!

Allons-y Bookish Babes!
