Last Friday I posted my 2015 Makeup Awards and now it’s time for the Book Awards! These awards consist of books that were read in 2015.
Longest Book – At 725 pages City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare was my longest book read this year.
Shortest Book – The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde is just 76 pages long. This one had me giggling the entire time I listened to it on audiobook!
Favorite Stand Alone – Fried Green Tomatoes by Fannie Flagg has to be my most favorite book read this year. I have been in love with the movie for years and didn’t read the book until now. I highly recommend checking out the book and movie!
Least Favorite – I just could not get into Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. While Importance of Being Earnest was quick and witty I found Dorian Gray to be a bit of a drag.
Favorite Series – This award has to go to The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I read some of these in 2014 but finished up the series back in April. Needless to say I very much recommend checking it out.
First Book Read – The first book I read in 2015 was City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare, book 2 in the Mortal Instruments series.
Last Book Read – As this post in coming out a little bit before the end of the year I’m going to count the book I’m about to finish. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey will be finished in the next few days. I’ve been loving The 5th Wave series and can’t wait for the movie to come out!
Favorite Sci-Fi – The Martian by Andy Weir was such an enjoyable Sci-Fi story! I loved the book and movie, check them out!
Favorite Classic – The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, another one where I loved the movie for years before reading the book! The story line in the book is quite a bit different from the movie, but I enjoy both!
Favorite Historical Fiction – The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. You guys….this book….just go read it right now. So wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time.
That completes the 2015 Book Awards! What were your favorites this year? I just might end up reading some of them next year.
