Happy New Year Bookish Babes! Today I’m going to review and compare a few concealers that I have tried out over the past year, some good and some not so good.
When shopping for a good concealer I’m looking for something that I can use in my undereye area and also on blemishes. I prefer not to use 2 different ones for those purposes. For reference I have oily, acne prone skin.
Back when my makeup routine was extremely simple this was the concealer I picked up at a local drugstore to use. The formula is very thin which I found pretty good for under the eye, however it did not cover blemishes very well and broke down/slid around after a few hours of wear.
I picked this up hoping to replace the Fit Me concealer for covering blemishes. I found that this did not cover redness well and did not play well with dry patches.
I chose the green correcting shade of this concealer to help out with redness. I have very fair skin and foundation sometimes doesn’t do the trick with redness, especially after a few hours of wear. I’ve really been enjoying this one! I typically use it under foundation, then apply another skin tone concealer on top to make sure it lasts all day.
This formula is very thin and runny, which is not ideal for blemishes. I also found that it did not pack quite enough pigment to fully cover anything, unlike the ‘maximum coverage’ claim it carries.
I thought this product would cover anything and everything with how full coverage it’s supposed to be. I found this to be a little too runny and it broke down on my oily skin after a few hours. I also discovered that this broke me out so badly! As soon as I figured that out it went straight into the trash, but it took my skin a good bit of time to recover.
This is a newer product to me and I LOVE it!! It works very well under the eyes as well as covering blemishes. It has a bit of a correcting tone to it so under eye circles and redness are cancelled out much better than other concealers I have tried. It is also a thin formula that packs enough pigment to cover but not look cakey.
Let me know what concealer you have been loving! Are there any you want to try in the new year?
