2016 Reading Goals

Main Photo

I wasn’t going to do this post for 2016 as I originally had only 1 reading goal in mind. However over the past few weeks I have added a few and wanted to share them with you!

Goal #1

My first and main goal is to read at least 39 books this year. In 2015 I wanted to read 36 total books, or 3 books a month. I exceeded my goal and ended the year with 38 books read. You can check out my 2015 books here. I decided I want to read at least 1 more book than I did last year. Hopefully I will surpass this goal, but I still wanted to set something attainable.

Goal #2

In order to expand my reading genres and get out of my comfort zone I have pledged to read 12 books from the Addicted to YA book club on Goodreads. This group has 4 books each month for readers to choose from and I will pick 1 each month to read.

Goal #3

My last goal is another Goodreads book club. However, this isn’t just any book club, it’s Emma Watson’s! Emma recently announced that she is starting a Feminist  book club and I joined up as soon as I heard! As of right now there is going to be one book per month and my goal is to read all of the ones she selects (unless I have already read it).

I would love to know your goals for the year, reading or otherwise!

  1. Wow! I didn’t know Emma started a book club. I’m going to check this out right away (I adore her). I wish you all the luck with your reading goals and hope you achieve them. Mine consist of reading at least 30 books this year for my goodreads challenge. Last year I managed to achieve my goal of 50 books, but because I’m going to start university in september I believe it would be best not to expect too much free time for personal reading. I also joined the 2016 Dystopia Reading Challenge by Cornerfolds and I’d like to read at least 10 Dystopia books this year.
