Foundation Collection

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Hello Bookish Babes! A few weeks ago I posted my Blush Collection and you guys really seemed to like it, so I thought we could chat about the foundations I own!

I don’t own too many, but I’m hoping to try out some new ones this year. if you have any suggestions please let me know!

MAYBELLINE SuperStay Better Skin Foundation

This foundation claims to give medium to full coverage and improve the appearance of your skin in just 3 weeks. I have found that this is definitely more medium than full coverage, it can build up a bit, but not quite to full coverage. This also claims to be for all skin types, but my oils start to come through in just 3-4 hours and begins to break down the foundation. As long as I blot halfway through the day this foundation can last 6-7 hours without starting to looks cakey and begin to break apart. Although this isn’t my favorite foundation (I most likely won’t be repurchasing), I do like it for work during the colder months.

TARTE Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15

My wonderful husband gave this to me as a Christmas present this year! The Amazonian Clay foundation is oil free and has vitamin A & E to protect from free radicals and retain moisture. This is definitely full coverage and has a moussey texture that smooths out the skin beautifully. I was hoping this would be a great summer foundation with the extra SPF, however I do start to get oily a few hours in. I do really like that this is 1.7 fluid oz for $39, considering most foundations are only 1 oz. This ends up being $23 per oz, which is really not bad for a high end foundation.

L’ORÉAL Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation

This is my current favorite foundation! The demi matte formula has a high water content so it isn’t so matte as to be drying. This claims to be medium coverage, but it definitely comes off as more full coverage, which I LOVE. My oils are held back fairly well with this foundation and holds up for 7-8 hours without absolutely needing to blot. It’s my go to for events and long days!

What’s your favorite foundation for oily skin? I want to try out some new ones this year!
