Lipstick Collection Part 1

Processed with VSCO

Happy National Lipstick Day Bookish Babes! It’s been a few months since my last collection post so I thought today would be perfect for a lipstick collection! Since I have quite a few I will splitting this into two posts, today will focus on the more every day wearable shades.

#1 Collage

Let’s start with some traditional lipsticks from E.L.F. and Essence.

e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Wink Pink: This lipstick has glitters in it….why???? Needless to say this is not my favorite, I like the color but the glittery pieces in it just totally ruin it for me.

ESSENCE Longlasting Lipstick in Nude Love: This is a sheer formula that I haven’t played around with too much yet. I do like the color, however this seems to cling to dry patches on my lips easily.

ESSENCE Longlasting Lipstick  in Oh So Matt!: I LOVE this lipstick! The color is the perfect nude for my pale self and it has good lasting power once it has set. I’ll definitely be buying a backup of this one soon.

e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Pink Minx: This one doesn’t have any glitter and I do like the formula. These moisturizing lipsticks don’t last very long on the lips, however they are comfortable. I have to admit this line of lipsticks from E.L.F. are not my favorite, but I do like some of their other options.

NYX COSMETICS Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Lace Detail: These have quite a few mixed reviews, but I do like this one! The formula never dries down fully and you have to make sure not to rub your lips together otherwise it starts crumbling. I’ve found that if I don’t mess with my lips too much while this is one it has good lasting power and is only slightly drying. I will say this is PERFECT for putting in the center of the lips with other darker lipsticks for an ombre effect. I personally love using this with my Stila liquid lipstick in Patina (keep an eye out for this one in part 2!).

Colourpop Lippie in Westie: This is a matte formula and is a dusy, baby pink color. I find that this color can wash me out if I’m at my most pale in the winter, but in the summer it’s great!

Colourpop Lippie in Bound: If this looks similar to Westie in the swatches that’s because it is. Bound is just the slightest bit darker and has a glossy finish. Even though this is a glossy formula I’ve found that it lasts a decent amount of time on the lips and reapplies easily.

Colourpop Lippie in Button: Button has a satin finish and is described as a peachy nude on the Colourpop website. This pulls a bit more orange than peachy on me, but I do still really like it. This one also has pretty good lasting power and reapplies easily.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien: This was the Sephora birthday gift for 2015 and I LOVE this one. You might not be able to tell from the pictures but I have used up so much of this baby. It’s a gorgeous rosy pink color (it leans a bit purple on me) with a satin finish. This formula doesn’t last very long on the lips, but it does fade gracefully throughout the day and reapplies easily. I might have to pick up another one when this one runs out…it is definitely a weekly staple for me.

e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Natural: This is the absolute perfect every day neutral color for me. These matte lip colors are comfortable on the lips and not drying at all. I find myself reaching for this one when I don’t want to worry too much about my lip color. I will say these can cling to very dry patches on the lips, however if your lips are just a little dry it shouldn’t be too bad. I’ve found that putting a very light layer of lip balm underneath these helps with that problem.

e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose: Tea Rose is such an interesting shade! This comes off as a dusty light purple on me and it looks SO good with a vampy eye and black outfit (basically the look I want to wear every day).

e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Coral: This was the very first Matte Lip Color I bought from E.L.F. and I gotta say I did not love it. I wonder if they changed their formula in between me purchasing this one and the other ones or if this color is just off. I much prefer a couple of other coral colors that I have (coming in part 2!).
