Happy Tuesday Bookish Babes! A couple of weeks ago I received the ever appreciated 5x points coupon for Ulta so I of course had take advantage of it.
Since I only wash my hair twice a week I go through quite a bit of dry shampoo, usually 2 Batiste bottles per month. I picked up the Blush scent which is a great sweet scent that isn’t too overpowering.
As an oily skinned acne sufferer I am a big fan of mud masks to clear out my congested skin. My go to is usually the Secret Aztec Healing Clay, but I wanted to try out something different and I’ve heard african black soap is great for acne. I haven’t tried this out yet but when I do I’ll update you on Instagram (@thebookishbeauty) or Snapchat (brittanyjo312). Share your favorite face mask in the comments, I would love to know!
I’ve been on the hunt for a holy grail eye cream and I’m hoping this one will be a good one. I’m currently using the e.l.f. eye cream and it works just fine, but I want one that does just a little bit more than adequately hydrate. If you have a great eye cream suggestion please let me know and I’ll be sure to try it out.
As I said before I have pretty oily skin so these oil absorbing sheets are a must for me. I’ve tried some off brand ones that are more cost effective, but I always end up going back to the Clean & Clear.
I have yet to find a cleanser that I absolutely love so I figured I would try this Neutrogena one that’s pretty highly rated on Ulta’s website. I’m currently using the Philosophy cleanser but I think it’s a bit overpriced for a basic cleanser.
I try to replace my shower sponge every month for hygiene reasons so grabbing this was a no brainer.
I absolutely fell in love with oil cleansers for removing makeup when I started using the Eclos one. However, it seems like the Eclos one has been discontinued and I’ve been on the hunt for something new ever since. I picked up the Skinfix cleansing oil hoping it would replace my old oil. I’ve only used this twice but I’m not loving it. For one, this foamed up when I rubbed in on my face?? I feel like cleansing oils shouldn’t do that, also it smells weird….
After using up the deep conditioner sample that was in a Sephora Play box I decided I needed to pick up some other deep conditioner to use once a week. I really love my HASK shampoo and conditioner so I figured I would try one of their inexpensive deep conditioners.
Ulta brand was having a buy two get 2 free so I picked up this body wash as a backup to the one I’m using. I’m currently using the Soap and Glory body wash, and while it does smell really good I find it to be just an okay wash. I really love lavender scented things so I’m hoping this will provide a nice aromatic shower experience.
I’ve recently gotten really into body scrubs so I wanted to try this one out once I’m done with my Soap and Glory one (which I don’t love…too creamy, not enough grit for my taste). This scrub smells amazing and I can’t wait to try it.
For my two free Ulta items I picked up some brushes. I’ve been needing a new crease brush to do more concentrated colors without blowing them out too much. I’ve only used this once so far but it’s working well.
I gotta say I was pretty skeptical about this one when I opened it since it seems pretty thick. Although, I did use it yesterday and it helped distribute my Anastasia Dip Brow in a very natural but put together way. I’ll continue playing around with it and let you guys know how it goes.
I really like my Maybelline Fit Me matte powder, but I decided to try something different since the Rimmel powder gets such rave reviews. I’ve only used it once so far so not enough to determine if I love it or not. I’ll keep using it though and perhaps do a comparison post on here or Instagram.
In case you haven’t heard this color is the PERFECT contour for fair skin. I’ve used this before and just needed another one, I really do like it and recommend to any other pale gals out there.
That completes my Ulta haul! Have you picked up any exciting new products? I would love to know!
