Sephora Play Review – August

Processed with VSCO

Surprise second post for today! I’m a bit behind on my posting schedule this week so I’m doubling up today.

If you’ve been following my Sephora Play posts for a few months now you know I like to do a first impressions post when I first receive the box and then 2 weeks later do a full review of the products included. For the August box I did not get a first impressions post up, but I’m still bringing you a full review now that I’ve been using the products for a few weeks!

CLEAN Reserve Blonde RoseLet’s start with the perfume sample. Every box comes with a perfume sample that does not count towards the 5 sample sized products included. The description of this fragrance pretty much describes my ideal perfume: “Blonde Rose is not an ordinary floral fragrance, it is for anyone who loves to be feminine with an edge.” YES PLEASE. I always like a bit of musk and richer notes to my fragrance while staying feminine and let me tell you this one is AWESOME! I might just have to pick up a full size.

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Eye Lifting BalmRIP my wallet because I’m going to need to buy this $62 eye cream FOREVER. I have been on such a major hunt for a good eye cream, I feel like all of the ones I’ve tried have just been so so and not given me any great results. Oh, but this one, SO GOOD. After using it morning and night for several days I was already seeing results. My undereye area is smoother, more hydrated, and my creasy concealer is so much less of a mess now. I highly recommend if you are able to drop the cash.

Lancôme Énergie de Vie The Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid MoisturizerThis has been a decent moisturizer, but I haven’t been wowed by it. The consistency is more like that of a serum and a little bit goes a long way. I’m pretty meh about this item, so I definitely don’t think the $55 full size is worth it.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadow Eyeshadow and Powder Blush in Pink Granite: I really like this shadow! It’s a great every day kind of taupey shade that goes on beautifully and doesn’t fade throughout the day. The shimmer in this isn’t overly glittery, I’ve been able to pull off day and night looks with this all over the lid.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof in Flirting Game: It definitely took me a while to get the hang of this one. The color is beautiful for an effortless smoky eye, but it does take a bit of work to blend out seamlessly. I will say once this shadow sets it does not budge, making it great for all day wear or a night out.

Urban Decay Perversion MascaraThis mascara gives great drama to the lashes that I really enjoy. My only gripe is that the overly large wand can be a bit messy. Almost every time I’ve worn it I’ve gotten some on my lid. I don’t think I would shell out the $22 for this, but I do think it’s a good mascara.
