Happy Monday Bookish Babes! Today I wanted to share with you the skincare products I had been using this past summer and if I would recommend picking them up.

Morning

I’ve stopped washing my face in the morning so I jump straight into my other products after a shower.

I start with the ALPHA SKINCARE Rejuvenating Serum which is a chemical exfoliant. This stuff has been working wonders on my acne and acne scarring.

I then follow up  with DR. CARVER MIRACLE REPAIR SERUM as a moisturizing serum. I’ve found that my sunscreen moisturizer doesn’t give me quite enough hydration and this product helps as an extra step.

The hunt for a good eye cream has been real my friends. After feeling like the elf eye cream wasn’t doing quite enough I picked up the SHEAMOISTURE SuperFruit Renewal Eye Cream. I find this to be just an okay eye cream, I don’t plan on repurchasing.

My last step is to apply Earth Science Almond Aloe Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 as my daily SPF. Everyone should be wearing SPF on a daily basis, and this pale gal applies it religiously. I am looking for a higher SPF moisturizer that works well under makeup, so if you know of a good one let me know.

EVENING

The first step in my evening skincare routine is to take off any makeup I have on. I’ve been using the SKINFIX Cleansing Oil Wash. I’m not the biggest fan of this product. While it does work I don’t enjoy the lather effect or the strong smell. If you have any cleansing oil suggestions please leave them in the comments!

I will then follow up with my regular cleanser. I’m currently using PHILOSOPHY Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser. This is a decent cleanser, but I don’t think it’s worth the price. I combine the cleanser with my CLARISONIC Mia 1 Skin Cleansing System, using the sensitive brush head.

Just like in the morning I will use the ALPHA SKINCARE Rejuvenating Serum. I’ve found that using this product twice a day works best for my skin.

My eye cream in the evening also stays the same, SHEAMOISTURE SuperFruit Renewal Eye Cream. I make sure I use a generous amount under my eye and also on my lid.

For extra hydration at night I like to go in with a thicker moisturizer. Lately I’ve been loving CERAVE Skin Renewing Night Cream for more intense hydration.

Masks

Twice I week I like to use the AZTEC SECRET Indian Healing Clay Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Mask combined with apple cider vinegar. This stuff is NO JOKE. I have congested, oily, acne prone skin and this mask does such a great job at getting all the gunk out. I leave this on for about 15 minutes, you will feel some intense tightening and even a little bit of pulsating. This almost never fails to bring some painful spots lurking under my skin up to the surface.

To help combat redness from my acne and to soothe my skin I like to use SHEAMOISTURE African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask on days I’m not using my more intense mask. This is much more mild than the Azlec Healing Clay, but it does wonders to keep my skin from being angry throughout the week. My husband says this smells like Play-Doh, but it doesn’t really bother me. The instructions say to leave this on for only 10 minutes, but I’ve found that 30 minutes works much better. I typically only put this on the lower half of my face, concentrating on my chin and lower cheek areas as that’s where my acne tends to be troublesome.

That wraps up my current skincare routine! What have been your favorite products lately? I would love to know!
