Happy Monday Bookish Babes! In my end of year blog survey the majority of you voted for more product reviews so I’m bringing you one today – the first one of 2017! I’ve been wanting to try the IT Cosmetics CC Cream for a long time and I finally got it for Christmas thanks to my bombtastic husband.
So let’s talk about the high claims first. This is marketed as a full coverage, brightening color corrector, anti-aging serum, pore minimizing primer, dark spot corrector, moisturizing cream with an SPF of 50. I’ve only been using this for a few weeks so I don’t have a solid review on the skin care benefits, but I can comment on some of the other claims.
Application & Coverage: I have the lightest shade available – Fair – which isn’t necessarily too dark for me, but it is a bit too yellow toned. Once I’ve finished all the rest of my makeup and made sure to blend down my neck it really isn’t bad, however it’s definitely not a perfect match. As for the coverage this is NOT full coverage as the claims state. I would say this is more of a buildable medium coverage. If you have acne, scars, or any other discoloration you want covered I recommend spot concealing before applying the cc cream.
Finish: I absolutely love the look of this! While not full coverage it still manages to blur your skin a bit and has a nice satin finish. I’ve found that this does not cake up easily which it great for a buildable coverage foundation.
Longevity: This holds up pretty well on my oily skin, although I haven’t tried it out during the summer months when I need a really heavy duty foundation to last all day. I’ve worn this for 9-10 hours without it majorly breaking up, just some minimal separation around my nose and chin areas. With that in mind I’m not sure this will be a good summer foundation for me.
Final thoughts: I actually quite like this foundation and have been using it several times a week since Christmas. The less than perfect shade match makes me think I won’t end up repurchasing this, but we’ll see. Have you tried this foundation? What were your thoughts? I would love to know!
