January TBR

january-2017-tbr

Happy Wednesday Bookish Babes! I know we’re already halfway through the month (I’m working on getting these up earlier in the month) but I still wanted to talk about the books I plan on reading during January. One of my goals this year (a 2017 reading goals post is coming next week!) is to read 5 books a month for a total of 60 books this year. I’m hoping my TBRs and wrap ups will have pretty much the same books on them, but we’ll see how that goes throughout the year.

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty:

This is my first Liane Moriarty book and it’s on my January TBR due to the HBO TV show coming out in February! The cast for this totally drew me in and made me want to read this. I’m not usually one for thriller/mystery books, however I am trying to expand my reading horizons so I’m excited to get into this one!

The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon:

This has been ALL OVER the book community since it came out in November so I’m definitely intrigued by the hype. I added this to my January TBR as it is one of the Addicted to YA book club picks for the month. I honestly don’t know too much about the story and I think I’m going to keep it that way so I’m surprised! There’s a really long waiting list at the library for this so I’m not sure if I’ll get it this month, but we’ll see. Turn your library books in on time folks!

Alien Love Story by A.K. Dawson:

A.K. Dawson offered to give me an e-copy of his book in the hopes that I would write a review. I love supporting authors, especially lesser known ones so I’m excited to read this one! Also it’s about aliens, so of course I’m all in. My only hesitation is the romance aspect of this book as I’m not usually one to like prominent romance story lines, I’ll keep you updated on my thoughts in a full review later this month.

The Last Star by Rick Yancey:

I’m so ready to finish the 5th Wave series! I really enjoyed the first book but found the second book to be not as good. I’ve also heard that this one wasn’t a great conclusion so I’m not overly excited about it, but who knows, it could be great!

Heartless by Marissa Meyer:

This is such an anticipated read for me! I really enjoyed The Lunar Chronicles and have heard such great things about this one. Shout out to my husband for gifting me this during Christmas! I’ll let you guys know if it lives up to the hype.

What are you reading this month? I would love to chat with you!

  1. I’d have to agree with you on the 5th Wave series. LOVED the first book. Second was alright. Third? I struggled to stay with it; the story failed to suck me in. I’ll be interested to see if you feel the same. Happy reading!
